On this day in 1974 Hank Aaron hit his 715th career home run, surpassing Babe Ruth's 39-year-old record.
In 1936, Ruth became one of the first five players elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Accountants make this time of year far less taxing.

I've been thinking about anonymity on the internet lately.
I've made an effort to keep my online profile separate from my offline life. To do this I have left my last name off of any usernames and public profiles available for my online profile, such as my blog, twitter, YouTube account, etc. I also don't have links posted to these sites available to my IRL friends, such as on my personal Facebook page.
I keep my online presence separate partially because I don't always want my friends and people I see in person to have access to things like my blog. Right now this blog is more for myself than anything. As far as I am aware my blog has only been read once by Alan Lastufka (for my review of Taking Leave), and possibly by songsfrompaul when I @replied him on twitter linking the post about his channel.
A lot people use their full names on places like YouTube and blogs, while others choose to censor their name in some way. They might do this by using their first name only, using a fake last name, or using an initial or part of their last name. Sometimes being internet-famous to some degree and having your last name public can present problems, such as when some fans had called the house of Charlie McDonnell. In other cases it can be beneficial such as the promotion for John Green's books.
