Best-friendship

The concept of a best friend is a curious topic. The idea that a certain friend is closer to you than any others. There's also the question of whether or not you are their best friend.

I have had 3 friends that I think could be considered best friends. Each of these friends I grew apart from mainly from going to different schools. On the other hand I also have a group of friends that I would consider my closest friends.

I think one of the problems with the concept of a best friend is when you consider someone your best friend but they don't. You might want to spend time with them while they would prefer to spend time with someone else. Don't take this the wrong way, you can't be upset with someone for wanting to spend time with other groups of friends, but when you start paying more attention to one friend or group of friends and begin to neglect others, it's not going to help friendships.

When someone is part of a close group of friends begins to date someone outside this group, sometimes they might not pay so much attention to their friends. Of course this person is going to want to dedicate a lot of their time to their girlfriend or boyfriend, they still need to think about their other friends and make an effort to spend time with them as well.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you have to make sure you pay attention to your friends in one way or another without neglecting others.
